Ladybacks Dominate Oral Roberts 96-64

Arkansas was matched up against the Golden Eagles of Oral Roberts on Thursday night and the LadyBacks started off on fire from the three point line jumping out to an 16-4 lead. Oral Roberts , which is 3-0 on the season got off to a slow start trying to get going inside but Arkansas defense was on its game.Arkansas jumped out to a 24-8 lead after one quarter. FreshmanMaykayla Daniels has the hot hand scoring 10 1st quarter points . ORU went on an 8-0 run in the 2nd quarter cutting the lead to 10. Alexis Tolefree had 5 unanswered points for Arkansas to push the lead back to 32-17. Makayla Daniels was definitely the spark in the 1st half scoring 20 points. Definitely what the LadyBacks needed after the slow start in the 2nd quarter. Arkansas went into the half  with a 47-28 lead. Chelsea Dungee had a sluggish start to the game with 6 points in the first half. 

The second half started off with two straight turnovers for the Golden Eagles and a 5-0 run by Arkansas to make it a 52-28 lead. Oral Roberts had trouble finding the bottom of the basketball evening. A team that averages 85.3 points per game was held to 30 points halfway through the 3rd quarter. Two quick three pointers by Tolefree and Daniels put the LadyBacks up by 30 with 3 minutes to go in the 3rd quarter. Both teams went on a little drought to end the quarter with the LadyBacks up 72-37. Amber Ramirez opened up the 4th quarter with back to back to back three pointers to make is a 81-59 game. Arkansas played reserves down the stretch and the final score was 96-64

Arkansas controlled the game from the start and was never threatened by the Golden Eagles. The online spark was Jr Keni Jo Lippe who had 22 on the evening and Rylie Torrey added 8 points. Gem Summers came off the bench and added 8 points. Daniels led all scorers with a career high 27 points. Dungee had 12 and Amber Ramirez and Alexis Tolefree had 18 each. Taylah Thomas had another huge night on the boards with 10. 

Up next for the LadyBacks is Stony Brook on the 17th at 1pm. Arkansas moves to 3-0 on the season and looks to keep this hot streak going and Coach Neighbors is very pleased on how balanced the team is playing along with his Sr leadership in Tolefree.
