We have only 43 days till Razorback football kicks back into action. The hogs are trending upward thanks to a talented recruiting class. However, to make a winning program you need consecutive high ranking classes. Going 2-10 again will not help the chances of landing another baller recruiting class.
This is why Arkansas has one of the easiest schedules in the SEC. Arkansas schedule ranks fifth easiest in the SEC. With that being said, the Hogs have a good chance of going to a bowl game this year. Which would be fantastic given the record just the year before. Here is how they’ll get there.
Portland State – Arkansas takes home the win to start an easy non conference schedule. 1-0
Ole Miss – This is a huge game for the Razorbacks that can make the difference in whether the Hogs go bowling or not. The Rebels lost a lot of talent to the draft last year. We came close to beating them then in 2018 but was held back by injuries. Arkansas has the upper hand this year. 2-0
Colorado State – The redemption game. This year we’ll hopefully have a true starter at QB and not blow a lead. Chad will have his redemption and the Hogs get the win. 3-0
San Jose State – Another easy win. If Arkansas loses any of these non conference games then we’ll be in for another long season. 4-0
Texas A&M – The Hogs will take on the Aggies at Jerry’s world in Dallas for the South West Classic. Arkansas hasn’t won this game against A&M since they joined the SEC in 2012. Jimbo and his talented recruiting classes will have Arkansas number again. Hogs take the first loss of the season. 4-1
Kentucky – Arkansas will travel to Lexington to take on the Wildcats. A good year to do it too. Kentucky lost all its star power to the NFL. This will be a hard fought game. Arkansas sneaks by and pulls out the win. 5-1
Auburn – The Tigers travel to Fayetteville to take on the 5-1 Hogs. Arkansas is one game away from being bowl eligible. They don’t get it and Auburn wins. 5-2
Alabama – Arkansas showed flashes in this game last year. They’ll travel to Tuscaloosa and take on the national runner up. Arkansas loses. 5-3
Mississippi State – Arkansas could surprise in this game but I think it goes in the Bulldogs favor. Hogs lose. 5-4
Western Kentucky – Ty Storey makes it back to Fayetteville to play against his former team. Arkansas routs the Hill Toppers and ends their losing streak. The Hogs are now bowl eligible. 6-4.
LSU – The Razorbacks travel south to take on the Tigers in Death Valley. This game was a close one last year and is usually a toss up. Home advantage will play a role against a young Arkansas team. Hogs lose. 6-5
Missouri – The Tigers meet the Razorbacks in Little Rock to play in the Battle Line rivalry. This will be a close game but Arkansas pulls out the win and ends their losing streak against Missouri. 7-5
The Hogs go bowling. Chad has his team going in the right direction and knows how to turn programs around. Ending 8-5 or 7-6 would be a major step forward for Arkansas.
