Arkansas fans and football program get to enjoy an extra fireworks show today as Kelvontay Dixon (6’1 180) commits to the Razorbacks as a running back. 247sports lists him as a wide receiver but associate head coach, Jeff Traylor, wants him to play as a running back.
Dixon is graded at 88 on the 247sports rating system. He is the 462nd ranked player in the country, 35th ranked athlete in the country and 60th overall player in the state of Texas. He has offers from the Hogs, Texas, Baylor, Colorado, Houston, Illinois, Oklahoma State, SMU and TCU.
The Razorbacks main competition to land Dixon were the Longhorns. His high school teammate, Ty’kieast Crawford, is the highest rated player for the Razorbacks current class. In a recent interview with Otis Kirk, Dixon was said to be smling a lot. Dixon replied, “I’m smiling because it is a very nice place. I like everything about (Fayetteville).
With Dixon’s commitment, the Razorbacks move up to 34th nationally in the 247composite rankings and move up to 12th overall in the SEC ahead of Missouri and Vanderbilt.
