What To Watch For As Hogs Welcome Demons To Town

The Razorbacks welcome the Northwestern State Demons out of central Louisiana To Baum-Walker Stadium for a two game midweek series. The Demons will always have a soft spot in the heart of Dave Van Horn as he spent his first three seasons as a Division One coach in Natchitoches. He led the Demons to a 106-65 record and two Southland Conference titles from 1995-1997.

Tonight, Northwestern State will roll into town with a record of 23-15 with hopes to win their first game in Baum-Walker since an 8-4 decision in 2001. The Demons defeated LSU on March 12th 3-1. They also have played common opponents Little Rock, Louisiana Tech and have a three-game set against Grambling on May 3-5.

The Demons will start RHP Kyle Swanson who has compiled a record of 0-1 with a 5.14 ERA. While Arkansas turns to 6’3 RHP Kole Ramage with a 6-1 record and a 5.31 ERA.

The Razorbacks are hoping super sophomore, Casey Martin, will continue the breakout performance he had this weekend versus Mississippi State. The reigning SEC player of the week hit .471 for the week with five of his eight hits and six of his 10 RBIs coming against the second-ranked Bulldogs. The Razorbacks have three players hitting over the .300 mark this season with Matt Goodheart (.391), Dominic Fletcher (.325) and Heston Kjerstad (.317) all performing at a high level right now.

As for watching the game, fans can tune into ESPN+ on their laptop, phone or pad at 6:30 PM starts tomorrow and Wednesday. You can also listen to the games via the Razorbacks Sports Network on your local affiliate.

This weekend, Arkansas will play host to the Tennessee Volunteers and former assistant coach, Tony Vitello. The first two games (Friday at 6:30 PM, Saturday at 3:00 PM) will be broadcast on the SEC Network+ and game three will be on the regular SEC Network at 6:30 PM.
