Terian Williams is a quarterback for Parkview High School but this boy can flat out play! At 6’0 180 he is able to elude defenders on the run, quick enough to step up into the pocket and make great passes and has quite the arm as well.
He seems to already have quite the recruiting following with a couple SEC schools taking notice of this ninth graders talent early in his high school career. So far, Williams is the fourth rated dual-threat quarterback in the country and also plays defensive back. He is the second rated defensive back in the nation. Who have you been offered by so far? “I’ve been offered by Howard University, University Kentucky and University Tennessee right now.”
His work in the classroom should not be dismissed either. Williams reported to us a GPA of 3.8, a SAT of 1200 and am ACT score of 24.
For a ninth grader, Williams was quite a prolific quarterback in 2018. He recorded 1265 yards passing with 13 touchdowns. Williams also sees the field well as a runner rushing for 1140 yards and 10 touchdowns.
One cannot say enough about the impact Williams makes on defense either. In 2018, he recorded 75 solo tackles with 40 of them assisted. He also recorded 4 interceptions which is are good numbers for a freshman. Could be a future shutdown corner as well?
Here are some results from a combine he went to:
40 yard dash: 4.66
Dream Schools: Arkansas, Florida, Georgia Tech, Ohio, South Carolina, Duke, Georgia, Kentucky, Tennessee and Clemson.
Williams told us he is the first freshman to receive an invitation for both the Elite 11 (QB) and The Opening as a (DB). A prospect being invited to attend both events at two different positions is unprecedented.
What does Arkansas have that gives you so much interest in them? “In college I would like to major in engineering, and Arkansas has a good engineering program,” said Williams. “Coach Morris was the OC at Clemson and recruited and developed Deshaun Watson into the best quarterback in College. Arkansas Football Program is on the rise and is headed in the right direction with a great coaching staff and major recruits who have committed to the program.”
What college or NFL players would you compare yourself to? “As for a college quarterback, I would say Kyler Murray,” said Williams. In the NFL, I really like Deshaun Watson’s game.”
What are the strengths of your game? ” I think my ability to lead my team,” said Williams. Having a young kid mention how he cares so much about leading a team should show you what a quality young man he is now and what he could be in the future. Williams later would go on and say, “My ability to extend plays, and being able to read defenses quickly. Also my versatility enables me to play offense and defense.”
Williams seems to be a guy that just wants to play ball no matter his position. In my opinion, as he grows so will his recruitment. This is just the beginning of his football career!
