Carter Norrie is always at the right place and right time on the football field. When coaches ask most kids if they love football, some will dance around and say it BUT this kid was not asked. Norrie loves football and always has since he began playing at five years old.
Hebron High School was a powerhouse in the early 2000’s but in recent years have been a consistent 8 win team. Their coach, Brian Brazil, has led them through it all and that includes winning a state championship at the 6A level.
In 2018, Norrie compiled 130 Tackles, 71 Solo Tackles, 5.5 Sacks and 8 QB Hurries. He was also awarded with spots on 1st Team All District and an All State performer. He is rated as the 9th overall 2020 LB in Texas by Lone Star Prospects and the 13th rated 2020 LB in Texas by Can’t Miss Sports.
Norrie has the size to add to his frame as he moves on to a college weight program, too. He comes in at 6’1 215, squats 405 pounds and runs a 40 yard dash in 4.65 seconds with a quick shuttle of 4.0 seconds.

After a great season in 2018, many colleges started to take notice of Norrie. “Teams that really started pursuing me are, Boston College, SMU, Harvard, HBU (Houston Baptist), Utah, San Diego, ACU (Abilene Christian),” said Norrie.
As most of the nation knows, the SEC is the best conference with the best players and fans in the country. Norrie knows that and said, “An SEC offer would be amazing it’s best of the best.”
“I play fast and physical,” when asked what he likes most about his game. “I have always been called a ball hawk because I have the ability to always be where the ball is. That can’t be taught. I’m too fast for the lineman and to strong for everyone else,” obviously, he exudes confidence. That is something needed at Arkansas. “I’m a big fan of the way JJ Watt, Jamal Adams, Luke Kuechly and Von Miller play,” said Norrie when asked about players he looks to try and mold his game towards.
Are you looking to visit Arkansas for a Prospect Day? “I have not had contact with Arkansa but if invited I would love to visit,” said Norrie.
What do you have to offer at the next level?
“My effort and work ethic are off the charts,” said Norrie. “No one outworks me during the season or off-season. I’m coachable and am a good teammate.”
Do you have plans to attend camps this summer? “In the past I’ve done a lot over the summer. This year my top priority is to prepare for the season by spending as much time as possible getting bigger, faster and stronger,” said Norrie. He looks to get in the weight room saying, “My goal is to get to 225 by the start of my senior year.”
What schools do you hope to receive an offer from the most? “I’m really open at this point in the process,” said Norrie. Then, he got very excited and mentioned, I think Arkansas targeting Texas is really smart, said Norrie. “In my opinion, Texas High School football is at a different level. Arkansas is a legendary football school with some of the best fans in the country. Who wouldn’t want to play there?
Finally, we asked Norrie about Arkansas and their fan base. Razorback fans are crazy, fun, passionate and loyal to their team. Would a school’s fan base play a role in your decision to commit somewhere?
“100%!!! Playing for a school that has such dedicated fans would be amazing. Woo Pig Sooie!!!!”
