Arkansas received a huge shot in the arm for their 2019 recruiting class. It was previously reported that 2019 4 star quarterback, K.J. Jefferson was not cleared to enroll early at the University of Arkansas. Many highly rated players over the years have enrolled early to increase their knowledge of the playbook, start developing their bodies with the strength and conditioning coach and begin practicing with the team in the spring to increase their chance for early playing time. Today, Danny West of HawgSports let the Razorback nation know that Jefferson has been given the ok to enroll at the University of Arkansas in January. This can only help the Razorback football program in dire need of a dual threat quarterback to ignite the offense. If you have not seen Jefferson’s highlights yet, take a look!
Along with Jefferson, these 2019 commitments plan to enroll in January as well:
4 star DE Eric Gregory
The interesting thing about Gregory is that he never visited the Arkansas campus before committing. Fellow IMG Academy teammate, Shamar Nash, gave Gregory an ear full about how great the school is, the resources and the love Hog fans give him.
4 star WR Shamar Nash
AT 6’1 185, Nash has the abilities I would compare to a Joe Adams or Jarius Wright type of receiver/playmaker. When I say he has speed, I mean it. Coach Morris said during his introductory press conference, “If you don’t have speed, you’re chasing speed.” There will be plenty of SEC defenses chasing Nash. Here is some tape of how he looked at a Rivals Camp during the summer of 2017.
4 star DE Mataio Soli
Solo is a Razorback legacy commit. His father, Junior Soli, played on the Razorback offensive line back in the late 80’s. Through the first seven games of his senior season Soli has surpassed his total number of sacks from last season. Soli has compiled 17 sacks with three games left in his senior season. Here is a video of the man known as the Sack Monster:
4 star DE Zach Williams
Another legacy commitment, Williams father is former Razorback linebacker, Rickey Williams. The younger Williams committed to Arkansas over Texas, Oregon State among others. With his long arms and speed off the line the Hogs are looking to be in great shape at the defensive line position. Here is a video of Williams against Camden Fairview a few weeks ago. This kid is a player!
4 star WR Trey Knox
Arkansas is very fortunate to have received the commitment of Knox. Out of Blackman HS (Murfreesboro, TN) Knox, he is the second commitment from the school with Adonis Otey, a 4 star cornerback. Knox’s size allows him to be more physical than his defender, able to go up and point the ball out of the air and also has deceptive speed to break away. Here is the 2017 junior season highlights for Knox:
TE Hudson Henry: Thursday at Noon
DT Tauren Carter: October 24th
S Jalen Catalon: January
OL Tim Anderson: No set commitment date
This is a great group of young man to begin building the Razorback program around. Hog fans can not wait for this group of 2019 players to make it to campus.
